These are our 2020 High School Graduates. Their senior year was shortened due to the Covid-19 virus pandemic. They will not be able to walk across the stage at a graduation ceremony to receive their diplomas like usual. We are honoring them on here since we will not be recognizing them during our church service since we can only have online services for now. We are so proud of all of our graduates and wish them all the best of luck in their futures. (We will keep you updated about their graduation parties when they are re-scheduled.)
In high school, Jorian participated in track, tennis, choir, cheer leading, a musical, and she sings at church! She went to DMACC during her junior year and got her CNA and worked as one and has worked at Culver’s for about 2 years. She enjoys being with friends and family in her spare time. She loves driving around and listening to music with friends and during her summers is at the lake having fun in the water and on the boats. She plans to go to DMACC this fall for her nursing.
Cody will be attending the University of Iowa in the fall, majoring in Management Information Systems-Business Analytics. He has loved playing sports, football was his passion. Friday Night Lights was his favorite part of high school. He also played basketball, favorite activity was being a peer helper in the Special Needs PE class, academic honor roll each semester, Honorable Mention Football Team Little Hawkeye Conference, All Academic Team Little Hawkeye Conference, Rotary Student of the Month, and he works at Earl May. When he was asked about all the senior class will miss, he mentioned prom, and graduation, but said it seems kind of selfish considering how many people have died due to the virus
He’s a very loving and caring young man he’s gives 110% no matter what! He was apart of football and wrestling both and loved every second of it. Logan is a die hard cardinal fan and always will be!
Micah is a senior at Newton High School. He enjoys hanging out with his friends. He works at Hy-Vee. Micah is going to continue to work and also take come collage courses. He would like to have his own business someday.
Nevaeh will be attending DMACC in the fall. She will be enrolled in the Early childhood education program and from there moving on to elementary education to become a kindergarten teacher. Nevaeh developed a love for teaching kindergartners after being in the Hero program at NHS this year and is excited about her plans for the future. Nevaeh also works at Hy-Vee.
